FEMA: 'Still a Lot of Work with Gustav' PDF Print E-mail

The Federal Emergency Management Agency's work to help Louisiana recover from Hurricane Gustav won't be diminished by Hurricane Ike, agency spokesman Ed Conley said. 

"We've still got a lot of work with Gustav," Conley said Thursday. "The team here is committed to Gustav and preparing to help Louisiana people who are impacted by Hurricane Ike." 

FEMA has workers in 10 regions who can be called upon to aid any area of the country, and many are already in Texas, Conley said. Besides distributing commodities, FEMA has medical teams around the state providing assistance at shelters and helping staff hospitals.
