Defentect Enters Canadian Homeland Security Market PDF Print E-mail

S2 Asset Protection, a Canadian security company and Value Added Reseller (VAR), has signed an agreement to distribute integrated threat-event management, monitoring and messaging software and gamma radiation sensors from Defentect, Norwalk, Conn., a business unit of Splinternet Holdings Inc., expanding its high-end portfolio of security technology offerings. The agreement provides Defentect, with direct access to Canadian markets.

Defentect DM3T is an unmanned gamma radiation detection network, networked using IP and managed over the Web, that integrates data from a wide-area pervasive grid of threat-event sensors to an incident command center. When high-energy gamma rays from dirty bomb components interact with GammatectT sensors, DM3'sT proprietary algorithms analyze the data and alert authorities to radiation that may pose a security threat. Communication features of DM3T provide the ability to receive and process data over a network from the radiation sensor to the command center and to generate notifications via SMS, XML, e-mail and other systems. The addition of strategically placed Gammatect PlusT sensors enables DM3T to identify radiation-emitting isotopes.
