The Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) has announced plans to install Rapid Responder crisis management system from Prepared Response Inc., Seattle, Wash., crisis management planning and response systems developer, to protect its students and staff during emergencies.
The system and installation are being funded by a $709,810 Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Grant SAUSD received from the U.S. Department of Education in 2007. SAUSD is the largest district in Southern California to install the Rapid Responder crisis management system. Eleven school districts in Northern and Southern California are currently using Rapid Responder to protect their campuses. The solution enables first responders to instantly access critical facility information such as floor plans, 360 degree imagery, hazardous materials quantities and locations and evacuation routes for all of the district’s 78 elementary, middle, high school and administrative buildings.
